GETTING TO KNOW ME

I created this uber-emo picture when I was in one of my sporadic artsy moods.  I tend to have those.  I usually will take random pics that I've either taken of myself or of others or of random things in general, and then use that picnik app on facebook.  But I also do a lot of other artsy things besides messing with random shiz on my computer.  For the most part, I like to make jewelry - particularly earrings.  I think my aunt got me into making jewelry.  Ever since I was about ten, I haven't stopped.  I remember in high school I took a jewelry class, and I walked in knowing I would nail the course.  I don't mean to brag - it's just that I already know the tricks of the trade because my aunt knows her stuff - she's a prof at SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design).  I'm not saying I'm great at jewelry-making, though.  Definitely not sayin that.  But it is a nice thing to know how to do when birthdays and the holidays roll around.  I also like to draw and journal.  I really just love anything craftsy.  But there is another side to me that is more academic.  I love all the core classes you find in school - english, math, social studies, science.  That is, of course, when I understand them.  Especially math.  I feel like that is the type of course that you feel so accomplished with when you get it, and then you feel really dumb when you don't.  Sooo ya...I love understanding math.  That sounds so boring.  "Tra la la, I love math, lala."  If that summed me up, I would despise myself.

One random thing about me is that I love to travel.. I love everything about it.  the cultural change.  the food.  the people.  the different ways of thinking in different countries.  the different languages.  I could go on and on and on...

Another random thing is that I'm obsessed with music.  I sing - it's my main hobby.  I was trained classically and I'm now trying to slide into jazz and rock/pop.  I love listening to music, too.  Every style is so interesting (minus screamo music ...really don't get it).  It's amazing how music can change the mood you're in so quickly.
